The Food Network is coming to Porkopolis
Scottsdale, Arizona: Some people say ‘Everything is bigger in Texas’ but the Food Network’s Ginormous Food show is coming to Arizona to highlight some rather large dinner features at Porkopolis BBQ in Scottsdale.
According to the Food Network blog, the show, hosted by Josh Denny, premiered on January 6th 2017 and will “go inside restaurants across the country from Philly to Richmond to Nashville, to showcase the little known but big and big flavored bites they’re serving up.”
Porkopolis BBQ is indeed a ‘little known’ gem in Scottsdale. The locally owned and operated restaurant recently opened their second restaurant located at Shea and Scottsdale Road and is already receiving great reviews. The original location in Chandler, Arizona has been open since 2012 and has won numerous awards for Best of Chandler BBQ and AZ Central’s Dominic Armato’s ‘10 favorite BBQ joints around Metro Phoenix.’
Porkopolis’ Owners, Brady Bogen of KUPD’s Holmberg’s Morning Sickness and Restaurateur, Matt Hamilton grew up together in Columbus, Ohio but it wasn’t until the two met up again in Phoenix when the idea for a bbq concept started to take shape. Porkopolis opened the doors in April 2012 and continues to grow. The restaurant also features non- bbq items such as a Cajun Jambalaya and Blackened Catfish and even pays homage to its namesake with Cincinnati Skillets.
The Ginormous Food show will feature the Brady Bacon Burger, The Mammoth Meatloaf Platter and the Ginormous Meat Plate* and will be filming at the Porkopolis Scottsdale location on April 5th, 2017.
